Guidance for Grant Applicants
In order to apply for a grant through BEST you must have registered for the programme and completed an SME Eligibility Form. You will have needed to speak to one of our energy team and received a grant application form.
Grants are available for a wide range of energy efficiency improvements. Some examples of eligible improvements include:
- Solar PV
- LED Lighting
- Heating Upgrades
- Plant and Machinery Upgrades
Grant awards are made on merits of application and improvements to the energy efficiency within the business.
Typical awards are given below, however, these are subject to change and awards are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
- 40% grants for projects costing less than £10,000
- 45% grants for projects that cost between £10,000 and £40,000
- 40% grant for projects over £40,000 (capped at a max grant of £20,000)
All grant applications much be supported by one of the following:
- A previous BEST audit (subject to no changes within the building)
- A professional energy audit (conducted in the last 3 years, subject to no changes within the building)
- A self audit review provided by BEST
